Adamie Alariaq

Biography

Adamie Alariaq was a carver from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), NU, known for his carvings centred around traditional tales, wildlife and everyday life. His carvings, though sculpted from stone, maintain an almost fluid feel. While his carvings are not necessarily focused on realism, they are brimming with emotion above objective representation. His wife, Nakasuk was also a carver, along with their sons, Novoalia, Peter, Timon and Simeonie Alariaq following their artistic path.
